Job description

My client is a progressive firm based in Weybridge, Uxbridge and Sunninghill providing wide ranging business solutions for small and medium sized businesses. Who are dedicated to delivering an exceptional service that will contribute towards their clients’ business success. As a medium sized accountancy firm, they provide a wide range of services including audit and accounts, tax compliance, tax planning, payroll, and company secretarial services.

An opportunity has now arisen for an Office / Accounts Administrator to work in our Business Services Department based in their Weybridge office.

Duties will include –

  • Providing a central point of contact for clients to provide their business accounting records.
  • Responsible for the management of the control aspects of the BSD database. Booking-in clients records and checking that all necessary items received.
  • Scanning of clients records and preparation of documentation for the accounts team.
  • Liaising, predominately by email, with the client to request additional information and e-deliver accounting queries as raised by the accountant.
  • Preparing dormant and non-trading accounts.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure that client deadline management is met.
  • Preparation of draft and final accounts packs for the practice accountants.
  • E-Filing the corporation tax returns to HMRC and company accounts to Companies House.
  • Responsible for compiling lists of client deadline management and enquiring of client managers as to the account’s status.
  • Ensuring that contact details on the database are up to date.
  • Preparing letters of engagement from software for accountant review.
  • Prepare client lists to circulate to the practice accountants to assist in identifying client led deadlines for sending mail merges out to clients.
  • Other ad hoc services to practice managers and the directors.

The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel. Good organisational skills, problem solving, and communication skills are also important, as is a motivated approach. Able to work in a team environment.  Knowledge of an accounting software such as Xero would be useful but not essential.
