Laurencekirk Medical Practice is a friendly, highly motivated and forward thinking growing GP practice looking after 6,200 patients in Aberdeenshire. We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated Office Manager to work alongside our Practice Manager.

We are looking for someone with previous team management experience to assist the daily management of our 9 strong team of Administration staff. Our Admin Team are trained to triage calls, cover reception and carry out all admin functions. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2/3 years’ experience working in a busy GP practice where you have managed/assisted in the management of the admin/reception team.   • You are caring and compassionate by nature and strive to provide first class care at all times
  • You are an excellent communicator with outstanding listening skills
  • You are a team player who is able to work under pressure and use their own initiative
  • You have excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Desirable (but not essential): You have minimum 2 years’ experience in General Practice and the use of Vision and Docman (or similar)

The successful candidate will ensure excellent communication across the practice, demonstrate excellent attention to detail in supporting the running of the administrative processes, clinical diaries, deliver clear and concise policies and procedures and have the ability to audit effectiveness of systems.

It is essential that candidates can demonstrate a willingness to learn and integrate quickly into the role. Every opportunity for training will be provided to help the person appointed develop the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake the role.


The hours are negotiable over 4 days per week, however, flexibility will be required to cover annual leave and sickness absence.


Salary is dependent on experience.
