They are looking to expand their OLE Design team in Derby by hiring an OLE Design Engineer to help deliver their upcoming design commitments throughout 2024 in both their Scotland & Eastern Regions.
Applicants will have a good working knowledge of OLE design ranges (UKMS desirable) & will be able to undertake complex area design.
The duties of this Job include but are not limited to:
- Producing & reviewing OLE design estimates,
- Resource Management.
- Continuously monitor, develop & enforce checking processes & recording to ensure quality, feedback to other OLE design team members.
- Being responsible for the OLE design team to produce all design deliverables in accordance with Network Rail and client requirements.
- Attend Standards & Health & Safety Briefings & feedback to OLE design team.
- Responsible for the implementation of all technical standards, basic design range drawings and other related documentation.
- Acting as a CRE when required to support the team.
- Responding to site queries.
- Meet and communicate with client’s representatives to ensure projects are delivered to meet technical requirements.
- Chair & Record lessons learned at the end of each design project, feeding these into competence management, training, development & future tenders.
- Ensure that up to date records of individual projects are maintained and are available for audit purposes.
- Identification of defect items and site campaign changes.
- Ensure that all OLE designs are produced in accordance with CDM Regulations.
- Chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
- Degree qualified.
- Minimum of 8 years rail experience.
- Experience on large projects from Grip staged 3-8.
- OLE Design experience suitable enough to be signed off as a CRE by the client.
- Proficient to a professional level in the use of CAD software.
