Summary
My high-profile utilities client is looking for a On Site Project Supervisor to join their team Based at their Warwick and Huntingdon Sites (up to 5 days a week On Site) on an initial 12-month contract with chance of extensions.
As Lead on Site Project Supervisor, you be based at sites near Peterborough and Huntingdon until Summer 2024 to support the final stages of the Compressor Upgrade Project and then transition to supporting the Western Gas Project based in the West Midlands at sites near Rugby and Evesham which will run through 2025.
The Lead Site Project Supervisor shall assist the Project Managers to ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract, in particular, that the contract's quality and SHE standards and targets are delivered On Site. The Lead Project Supervisor shall be delegated the responsibilities of Project Supervisor on NEC contracts, in agreement with the Project Manager and after notifying the Contractor, may delegate any of their responsibilities to other Project Supervisors in the WGN team (when appointed) or another Client/Employer employee as appropriate. The Lead Project Supervisor shall be responsible for the following:
* Provide constructability advice and guidance to Project Managers during Design Reviews and Formal Process Safety Assessments
* Define roles for, lead and recruit a suitable team of Project Supervisors and Inspectors, pursuant to the size and complexity of Western Gas Network Project.
* Act as the formal National Gas delivery team interface with the contractor for all day-to-day constructiOn Site activities.
* Provide assurance that suitable welfare provisions are provided and maintained.
* Monitor Health & Safety systems of work operated by the Principal Contractor and subcontractors throughout the duration of the project.
* Oversee the establishment of an effective system for all relevant permit requirements and ensure it is being implemented by the contractor.
* Ensure all project Quality and SHE plans have been reviewed and meet the requirements of the contract.
* Ensure all method statements have been reviewed and all site activities are undertaken in accordance with the Method Statement to minimise hazards and risk to personnel and plant as per NGUK/Con/BP141G.
* Ensure all site documents have been subject to formal document control.
* Ensure Contractors install works to Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings.
* Ensure works on or near National Gas's assets are undertaken in accordance with NGT Safe Control of Operations procedures and all other NGT standards. The Lead Supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring permit requests have been made to NGT's Operations team in a timely manner
* Ensuring gas checks are undertaken on NGT assets on a daily basis before works commence
* Working with the Contractor to coordinate test and inspection activities detailed in the contract and accepted QA Plan.
* Ensures that any pre-delivery test or inspection activities of plant and materials have been undertaken.
* Ensure that appropriate systems are in place to manage and control materials.
* Monitor and report On Site activities, including ensuring that daily allocation sheets are signed and that they capture the activities with the people, equipment, and plant and materials accurately stated.
* Identifying, recording and notifying the Contractor of defects.
* Manage the close out of issues raised through audit & inspection activities and provide the Quality Adviser with regular updates.
* Monitor and record close out of health, safety, environmental & technical inspection actions.
* Interface regularly with GT Operations with regards to site activities
* Support the review and preparation of Non-Routine Procedures, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Support delivery of Quality and SHE performance triangles.
* Report all incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with NGT procedures.
* Ensure that a programme of SHE inspections is undertaken in accordance with the SHE Auditing/Inspection Procedure as per NGUK/Con/BP136G.
* Implement continuous improvement for the Quality Management System. Lessons Learned & Best Practice should be captured as per the Performance Improvement Procedure as per NGUK/Con/BP178G.
* Input into the monthly review of the contractor programme submission, providing commentary if it accurately captures works done to date, that the programme is practical, and that it represents the contractor's plans realistically.
* The recording and then raising of any queries, concerns, complaints from landowners, residents of others to the relevant member of the project team.
