About the Role

As part of the University’s Assessment Strategy, the University of Warwick is implementing a new Online Assessment platform (Warwick Assessment System – WAS). This post is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of in how students are assessed, supporting academic departments and professional service groups as Warwick diversifies its forms of assessment, as part of the Education Strategy.

Whilst the post will be based within Student Administrative Services, the role will be cross-institutional, working with the Information & Digital Group (IDG), Online Assessment Project Team, academic and professional services colleagues at all levels. You will be pivotal to assessing and delivering to the needs of academic departments and students, in order for them to operate digital examinations assessments in an effective and orderly manner. This applies to both remote and on-campus digital exams.

About the Department
1

Student Administrative Services comprises three major service areas:

Awards ceremonies and Enrolment

ACE are responsible for delivery of the University’s summer and winter awards ceremonies, supporting all aspects of planning and delivery, as well as the post event despatch of certificates for those students who do not attend. The Team also manage alumni queries and requests relating to digital certificates and physical authorised/replacement certificates

The second major area of responsibility is planning and co-ordinating central enrolment, re-enrolment and course registration. The Team co-ordinate with a wide range of stakeholders (IDG, Immigration and Compliance, the Welcome Team etc) to ensure students can complete enrolment tasks.

Student Records & Business Operations

Student Records

The principal work of the Student Records Management Team is to ensure that SITS student records contain accurate data for all Warwick students studying accredited courses. Data is maintained in accordance with University Regulations and in compliance with the requirements set down by external bodies. The Team are responsible for managing the eVision workflow processes (Student Records Online) through which

a range of key student processes are administered.


Student Records also manage production of the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) for undergraduate students. Transcripts for postgraduate students are produced in liaison with the Awards Ceremonies and Enrolment Team.

The increasingly complex student lifecycle and range of student requests, to interrupt or restart studies, means that the Team increasingly provide support to colleagues throughout the University in understanding student-facing Regulations and requirements.

Business Operations

This area covers validations and assurance controls to ensure data integrity, supporting internal operations for external reporting and continuous improvement of systems and processes across the whole of Student Administrative Systems. The team is also the first point of contact for all matters concerning Degree Apprenticeship students and students on collaborative courses.

MODULES, MARKS AND ASSESSMENT

The Modules, Marks and Assessment Team is responsible for organising over one thousand on-campus and online examinations annually. These centrally scheduled examinations are sat by over fifteen thousand students across the University each year.

The team manages module approval and module registration data, Alternative Exam Arrangements and the administration of UG and PGT external examiners. In addition, the team provides guidance and support around the processing of marks data.
