Student and Academic Services provide a range of professional services to assist students with many aspects of their university life. Open Door is one of the sections within Student and Academic Services. Open Door is a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals who work with students who are experiencing psychological and mental health difficulties.
Role
The post will involve Initial Assessment, brief interventions 1-3 or 1-4 therapeutic work or Case Management as appropriate following assessment. We wish to appoint a suitably qualified mental health professional, who has recent experience of working with people experiencing common mental health difficulties using evidence based, brief psychological interventions. We are looking for a Practitioner who holds a relevant professional qualification and Registration/Accreditation with an appropriate professional body e.g. NMC or BACP.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
An Accredited professional qualification in an appropriate discipline e.g. Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Counselling.
Experience of undertaking Initial Assessments, completing brief interventions, and managing a caseload providing appropriate interventions according to the needs of the student.
Up to date knowledge of mental health, mental ill health and psychological difficulties and the appropriate psychological interventions indicated after assessment.
Knowledge of the range of mental health difficulties which may be presented within the University population.
Experience of providing brief psychological interventions.
Recent experience of working with people with common mental health difficulties.
