An exciting opportunity is available to be the Council’s lead officer on open space development and planning including ecology, biodiversity, and the natural environment.
You will help develop policies, strategies, programmes and projects that contribute to the regeneration and quality of life of the City and ensure the City Council meets (and helps others to meet) legal obligations and objectives. You will also lead the development of the Council’s parks and OPEN SPACES strategy and promote ecological systems and balance as an integral part of life in a modern city, ensuring that sustainable development incorporates natural environmental elements, thus providing a high quality of environment and quality of life for the community.
A degree in Ecology or a relevant associated biological/ environmental discipline is an essential requirement for this post. Post qualification experience of ecology and biodiversity preferably in a mainly urban environment is also essential.
