Who are we?
Dementia Concern aims to provide specialist support and advice to anyone in Ealing who is affected by dementia. Our expert frontline staff deliver the best care possible during the dementia journey. We are proud to be partnered with the NHS to link directly between the eight GP networks in Ealing and the mental health team (CIDs). There are hundreds of types of dementia, with Alzheimer’s being the most common. Dementia has been the leading cause of death in the UK for the last decade.
As Operations and Business Support you will play a key part in helping the charity set strong foundations for growth. You will support key services including senior management to ensure the charity’s operations are compliant with governance and offer administrational support where required. This function is going to be working across the charity and be a vital part of future success gaining valuable experience in many areas across the charity.

Location This is an in person role, based in our building at W5 4DJ.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role
The Operations and Business Support is a new role for the charity that will work with all the teams and help the Charity’s growth. You will work on office processes and be able to create both internal and external communications including marketing and social media platforms. You will be the key contact for contractors and suppliers and ensure base office equipment is safe and checked regularly. The role also has some administrations support for senior management including the CEO which will include minute taking for team meetings and ad-hoc support with projects. The ideal candidate would be a creative person who is looking for experience within charity operations or administration. You will gain significant experience overseeing the back office activity of a small but growing charity.
We are looking for a candidate with an Operational mindset to proactively meet business functions across the charity. This is a challenging but exciting opportunity to design and embed efficient business processes and support all charity functions to maximise their impact.

Responsibilities
Operations:
- Welcoming visitors, and managing incoming calls to Dementia Concern
- Leading on communications with website traffic and email enquirers
- Administrative support to CEO and Director of Services Helping gather information for reporting and grants.
- Event planning, stewardship and implementation Facilities support, including contractor and supply management
Marketing:
- Creating digital content for charity communications
- Keeping website and social media platforms up to date
- Support digital and traditional campaigns (e.g. newsletter)
- Collating data for funding and charity reports.
Person Specification
- Ability to manage multiple overlapping projects
- Experience of digital and social channels
- Problem-solving and thinking on your feet
- Creative approach to tasks and projects
- Naturally process-focussed approach
- Experience managing social media accounts (desired)
- Knowledge of: Website CMS & Google Workspace (desired)
- Experience with facilities or governance management (desired)
