Overview:

Join the team as an Operations Manager specialising in waste management, where you will oversee and optimise waste disposal, recycling, and environmental initiatives. This role requires strategic leadership, strong operational skills, and a passion for sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise waste management operations, including landfill management and recycling programs.
- Develop and implement efficient waste disposal strategies to meet regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.
- Manage and optimise budgets for waste disposal activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, external vendors, and community groups to promote sustainable waste management practices.
- Monitor performance metrics and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all waste management activities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to operational teams, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge in waste management practices.
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste generation, increase recycling rates, and achieve environmental sustainability targets.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, business management, or related field. (Preferred)
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in waste management or environmental services.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of waste management regulations, sustainability practices, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and budget management.
- Commitment to environmental sustainability and waste reduction efforts.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
