We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and manage our transport operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, preferably within the transport or taxi industry, and possess excellent leadership and organisational skills. This role requires flexibility, including the availability to work out of hours and weekends if necessary.
Day to Day of the Role:- Organising meetings, hiring venues, and taking minutes.
- Covering school contract work either as a Driver or Passenger Assistant as required.
- Managing admin staff in the office and abroad, assigning tasks for all admin staff.
- Overseeing company vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with licensing, repairs, maintenance, insurance, MOT, and breakdown cover.
- Onboarding new staff, advertising for new roles, training, and maintaining up-to-date documentation as per council requirements.
- Handling ad hoc tasks and providing additional support to directors from other businesses within the same group.
- Liaising with parents, schools, local councils, and social services for new and existing routes.
- Managing payments, invoices, and salaries for all employed and self-employed staff.
- Conducting risk assessments, logistic and route planning, and following policies and procedures.
- Must have a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- At least 1 year's management experience.
- Familiarity with confidentiality and GDPR rules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong skills in negotiation, customer service, account management, and strategic planning.
- Ability to solve complex problems and manage staffing issues at short notice.
- Experience in business development, business & data analysis, and operations management.
- A company car with a fuel card.
