We are seeking an Operations Manager to maximise the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our operations and logistics. This pivotal role requires excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills. The successful candidate will work alongside various teams and lead the Transport Department, ensuring the smooth running of vehicles, trailers, and plant equipment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the smooth running of the Operations team.
- Forward plan 28 days ahead using a bespoke computer system to schedule projects, logistics, and site crew.
- Produce Yard Sheet, Event Sheet, and Transport sheet.
- Liaise with site crew, managers, and drivers.
- Coordinate with satellite depots and Yard crew.
- Book accommodation for crew and handle vehicle breakdowns.
- Maintain live spreadsheets and produce reports & documentation.
- Plan sub-contractor drivers’ work and hire vehicles, ensuring all inductions and insurance documents are correct.
- Be heavily involved in Yard operations in all aspects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong time management skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Good working knowledge of computers, Excel, and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Professional manner, positive attitude, helpful approach, and good sense of humour.
- Commitment to following through with procedures that are in place.
- Geographical knowledge.
