Position: Operations Manager
Location: Thatcham (RG19) with hybrid working
Salary: £42,000 per annum (+ bonus)
Hours: 09:00 – 17:30 (Monday – Friday)

The Opportunity   

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with an innovative training provider based in Thatcham, who are looking to recruit an approachable and collaborative Operations Manager to join their team.  

Day-to-day, the primary responsibility of the Operations Manager will be to oversee a team, scheduling, resource management, policies and procedures and calendar management for the training provision of the business alongside more general operations. The role will be involve managing a small team and working alongside wider departments, external organisations, clients and customers to organise the logistics behind virtual and face-to-face training courses and to maintain already well-established relationships.  

Other duties associated with the Operations Manager position are not limited to involvement with the recruitment process, the induction and training of new staff, managing relationships with suppliers and exam boards, organising internal training and ensuring compliance with industry standards. 

A key part of the successful Operations Manager’s objective is to review and streamline processes with the view to keeping the learner and client at the forefront of every business decision. To achieve this the successful candidate will be commercially aware and enjoy working closely alongside the sales and training departments to drive forward as one.

Requirements   

  • Experience of working in a similar role, within a regulated or compliance focused sector  
  • An approachable Operations Manager, who enjoys developing their team and openly collaborating with the wider business 
  • Commercially aware with a genuine desire to improve and simplify processes with the client and learner at forefront of business decisions 
  • Ambitious to progress and work as part of a senior management team within a growing business, whilst being resilient to manage challenges along the way  
  • A strong attention to detail and highly organised with the ability to manage their own diary but also a team and the wider business 
  • Strong IT skills and experience using technology as part of business improvement
