Operations Support Assistant - Temporary Appointment (6 months) - GBP16.40/ Hour - Part Time

Your new company
Your new company is a large educational body located in Glasgow, looking to add an Operations Support Assistant to their team on a temporary, part-time basis.
Your new role

  • Respond to general enquiries from and providing clear information to students, staff and visitors in person, email and other online environments.
  • Assist in the set up and relocation of staff offices.
  • Assist in the set up of new IT kit and devices.
  • Provide support for the School's events and meetings, for example by booking meeting rooms and maintaining user/access spreadsheets to local rooms.
  • Organise and maintain supplies of stationery and paper.
  • Arrange regular recycling and confidential waste uplifts.
  • Report printer faults and arrange for the disposal of printer cartridges.
  • In partnership with trained First Aiders, regularly review First Aid kits and arrange new supplies as needed.
  • Document processes and procedures for all the above tasks, in order to support business continuity and risk management.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of new and key processes.
  • To be a key contact for the zonal facilities and estates team and to work with them to coordinate and carry out key facility maintenance.
  • To provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders and to contribute to the enhancement of the University's international profile in line with the university's strategic plan.
  • Undertake any other reasonable activities dependent on the needs of the customer/team and as directed by the Operations Team Leader.
  • What you'll need to succeed
    • Good verbal and English language writing skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
    • Strong workload management and prioritisation skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Ability to demonstrate initiative and exercise judgement to solve problems independently and escalate when appropriate.
    • Computer literacy and willingness/capacity to learn new IT systems.
    • Flexibility and resilience in order to cope effectively with change.
