Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be Henderson House in Huntingdon but you could be located anywhere within or near to the Anglian Water region.

Anglian Waters Information Service team (IS) is currently undergoing a transformation which will enhance the services it delivers and ensure they are best positioned to play a proactive and value orientated role across our business. As a result, we are currently looking for a Technology Architect to join the team. This is a fantastic new opportunity to help shape the future on our Operational Technology and its convergence with IT.

Working as a part of the CTO Team and within a team of Technology Architects, this role is responsible for guiding, designing and assuring changes to our Operational Technology capabilities and services. The Technology Architect will work across the entire technology landscape, with specific focus on Operational Technology, which includes areas covering sensing & control, communications & networking and data modelling & analytics.

Reporting to the Platform Architect (OT), the role requires OT asset technical knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of the typical solutions deployed within the water industry. This will require an understanding of each component, the capabilities they provide, how they operate & are integrated into the overall technology landscape as well as the associated service management & support model. Activities will also include contribution to the development of technology standards & policies. The role holder will also be part of Communities of Practice, that includes various members of the wider technology teams to ensure that services are delivered, developed, managed & maintained in line with Business needs.

The Technology Architect will use their experience to research, design and develop solutions for projects, acting as a Solution Architect. They'll ensure that designs are presented and reviewed by their peers and that they meet corporate standards and the project requirements. They'll work with the project manager to plan and implement the solution. They will also seek opportunities to exploit and optimise existing services for incremental business benefit.

The role holder will also engage with project-based Solution Architects to ensure coherence of their solution, adherence to corporate standards & policies & form a clear understanding of business impact & technical dependencies. This will include reviewing and signing off design documentation.

It will be important to build & maintain relationships with key vendors, suppliers & market analysts to identify new & emerging technologies, tools, methods & techniques. This will include an assessment of their relevance & value to the Business.

What does it take to be a Technology Architect?

· Significant OT experience across a wide range of roles within OT, IT or operational function.

· Experience in the design of complex services including enduring operating / support model

· Skilled at communicating & engaging with snr stakeholders

· Technology lifecycle management and solution planning

· Solution and Technology investigation

· Solution optioneering and life cycle delivery

· Solution Design and assurance

· Defining & maintaining policies, strategies & technical documentation to support nominated platform
