Home-based, with some national travel and occasional attendance at the London office (approx. once per quarter)
GamCare is recruiting an Outreach & Engagement Practitioner in Northern Ireland to play a key role providing advice, brief and extended brief interventions to women affected by gambling harms.
About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
You will work in a range of settings, identifying the need for more structured interventions and facilitating seamless referral through to GamCare’s support services and managing a client caseload where required.
You will establish and build relationships with key organisations and professional services in Northern Ireland to raise awareness of gambling harms and support the referral of women into our support services.
The Women’s Pathway delivers awareness raising training for professionals and peer-support groups for women across the UK. You will work collaboratively with the training provision and holistic support spaces to ensure a joined-up offer to women and professionals.
About You
Knowledge of the range of interventions that can be deployed to support women at risk of, or experiencing, gambling harms is essential.
You will also have demonstrable experience of managing a caseload of clients with varying needs who are seeking a change in behaviour to overcome harm caused.
You will be confident identifying and engaging key stakeholders and developing relationships with a wide range of audiences.
