When you join our team as Packaging Development Assistant, you will directly support the sourcing and development of new and exciting packaging formats; either for our pioneering new skincare product developments or by supporting the improvement of our existing packaging from a sustainability point of view.
This role reports into our Senior R&D Project Manager and is part of the wider R&D team of over 20 people, covering product management, regulatory, formulation and project management. As a high performing team with an ambitious innovation pipeline, this will be an important role in helping keep our projects on track and supporting us to achieve our sustainability and customer focused Packaging Development goals.
This is a fantastic role for someone who is passionate about packaging, sustainability, carbon footprint and finding great practical packaging solutions for our customers. Responsibilities:
- Supports the Packaging Technologist & R&D Project team with day to day packaging activities.
- Ensures packaging testing and trials are completed in a timely manner in line with CPA.
- Tracks and facilitates packaging sampling requests.
- Monitors and updates CPA’s and timelines from a packaging perspective.
- Liaise with suppliers on packaging samples, lead times and costs.
- Assists with the completion and organising of pack standards and specifications
QA deviation follow up in consultation with Packaging Technologist. - Keeps up to date with the packaging industry, including developments and new competitor launches.
Key Skills:
- Have 1-2 years experience as a Packaging Assistant or Quality Assistant/Controller.
- Have exceptional organisation skill and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Have an innovative and problem solving attitude.
- Have the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Able to quickly build rapport and great relationships with packaging & material suppliers.
- Are a personable team player with strong communication skills.
- Has a growth mindset and is able to work with positivity and resilience to adapt to change.
- Have a genuine passion and interest in sustainability.
