Working from their centre of excellence, we are recruiting Assembly Operatives working within the paint department, to join them on a temporary to permanent basis. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Wednesday: 7.00am to 5pm Thursday: 7.00am to 4.30pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday OFF The role requires working at height on a regular basis (2-3m on staging) for pre paint wash and preparation activities. Daily Paint team activities can include; * Preparation and paint of new and used vehicle parts. * Preparation and paint of fully assembled vehicles. * Application of specialist surface treatments. * Making good of paint finishes where local repairs have taken place on vehicles/components. * Corrosion removal and treatment when required. You will use IT systems to update work logs and access various information. The ideal candidate will also be prepared to undertake some simple mechanical disassembly and re-assembly of vehicle components using Work Instructions, standard operating procedures as part of the preparation and completion activities. Experience & Skills required of the Assembly Operative- Paint Prep/ Sprayer * Familiar with correct use of RPE/PPE in the Paint Spraying Environment. * Able to observe all risk assessments, product data sheets, hazard data sheets. * Have the ability to follow work instructions/Standard Operating instructions to maintain product quality. Observe 5S system workplace controls. * Experienced in gravity fed, suction fed, electrostatic systems. * Familiar with 2 pack, water based and acrylic paint systems observing accurate mixing instructions. * Attention to detail in all activities, particularly preparation and surface finish to customer specifications (Defence Standards) * Familiar with inspection techniques including dry/wet film thickness and gloss level testing. * Must be happy to work in a team across all the paint area responsibilities to achieve production schedule.
