Are you interested in the law? Our Legal Team has the perfect opportunity for a Paralegal, providing an ideal starting point for your legal career and the chance to immerse yourself in the world of local authority law.

As a Paralegal your work will be primarily focused on childcare legal work, assisting the Solicitors within the Safeguarding and Protection teams. This is a very varied role, working on cases from pre-proceedings through to final hearings, including building and updating Court bundles, electronic diary management, completing redactions, filing and serving documents, managing the shared inbox and being the first port of call for enquiries.

The work is predominantly public law childcare focused, however it can also include private law cases. There are opportunities to shadow Solicitors and attend Court, as well as policies providing additional time off for studies. There are also opportunities for progression and to gain qualifications through legal apprenticeships (subject to availability).

We are looking for a candidate with at least one year of legal office experience or local government experience as well as at least 2 or more A Levels, including English. You will have the ability to work independently, take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment as the work is often pressurised with competing deadlines. You should possess good IT skills, the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work swiftly and accurately to meet the demands of the service.
