About the Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced (preferably level 4 diploma qualified – or working towards) Paraplanner to expand our Financial Services team.

As an experienced Paraplanner, you will be part of a small Sales Support and Financial Planning Admin Team providing efficient administration and sales support to consultants, to ensure compliance with relevant procedures, as well as pro-active support to consultants in the provision of on-going independent financial advice to clients.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Assisting in the preparation of letters and technical reports for consultants, from a brief and/or client file information.
• Researching products and funds to enable suitable providers to be selected for inclusion in a benefit / investment strategy.
• Reviewing and commenting on the suitability of existing pension, investment, and protection arrangements, including SSAS/EPP.
• Handling client correspondence of a technical nature on behalf of consultants (which may include provision of specific information to clients).
• Ensuring that consultants are kept up to date/notified regarding any difficulties or non-standard matters, as appropriate.
• Ensuring timely & accurate implementation of required work and ensuring continuous communication with Consultants/Clients as appropriate.
• Acting as technical interface between consultant and client.
• Proactively collate information required for reports.
• Commercial awareness to produce reports in a sales format.
• Assisting the Financial Services Manager and Admin team with day-to-day office administration as required 

About you

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, diligent, and motivated person who is interested in developing their knowledge and gaining experience in the financial services industry in a varied and supportive environment.

• You will need to be an outgoing person coupled with an enthusiasm for becoming an authority on the financial planning options for our clients.
• Ideally qualified or part qualified Para-planner studying toward (support will be given) the Certificate in Financial Planning and Diploma with a basic understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology.
• Education to be of a good general standard ideally with basic qualifications in Maths and English GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
• Solid experience in a professional financial services sale’s environment with a bias towards investments and pensions – ideally an IFA practice or Life and Pensions Office.
• Ideally familiar with 1st Software’s Adviser Office.
• Intermediate user of Excel and Word.
• Proficient use of Outlook.
• Proficient in the use of Internet research tools an advantage to produce concise reports for the IFA team.
