Ipswich Borough Council’s Park Protection Team are responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors and upkeep of all parks & open spaces around Ipswich seven days a week.
As we are now moving towards the warmer months with longer opening hours, we are looking for motivated people with a passion for the outdoors to join us to assist with the seasonal demand.
The hours that we require cover are evenings from 5:30pm Monday – Friday and Weekend, for 14.8 hours per week. An example of a four weekend month working pattern is: work one Saturday, work one Sunday, work one joint Saturday and Sunday and one weekend off shift, dependant on weekday availability.

Our work is not only limited to parks, it also extends to allotments, cemeteries, play areas and recreation grounds. Whether it be deterring antisocial behaviour, locking and unlocking parks, litter picking, dealing with public enquires, working alongside other departments or carrying out play area inspections; no two days are the same.
If you are someone who likes working outside, enjoys parks and open spaces with a full driving licence we would welcome your application.
You will be quick thinking and able to use your own initiative. You will be physically capable of carrying out foot patrols over long distances and you will possess a sound knowledge of using a smart phones. A full driving licence is essential.

The selection process will be an interview.
Interviews will be held on week commencing 29th April 2024.
The assessment interview process will be carried out remotely via Skype for Business, Microsoft teams or in person.
