Location:         Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale

Salary:              £11.26 per hour

Hours:              25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:30am - 2:30pm

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time only

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant who will support the Cook with producing high quality lunches to staff and the young people in our care. 

About the Role

You will be a responsible, friendly and an organised person who has a passion for providing nutritious lunches for both staff and young people, considering the requirements of Healthy Schools

Essential Criteria:

• To assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages
• To provide a clean, hygienic and well-presented environment
• Good communication skills
• Compassionate – good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils and young people, and other staff remaining sensitive and empathetic
• Intuitive and caring nature
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils and young people
• Desirable – food safety/hygiene knowledge or qualification

Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils and young people, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including complex communication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with their disabilities.
