Part Time Project Worker

22.5 hours per week, shifts on a 2 week rolling rota

We’ve a great opportunity for an experienced Project Worker with the passion and drive to help our customers achieve independent living. Longford Road offers a mix of short-term, accommodation based support to adults experiencing mental health issues.


We support people to maintain a tenancy, and assist with recovery by using the Well-being Star, which is a highly regarded tool for supporting with recovery and is used by the NHS and many other organisations. If you want to make a real difference in people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.


Shift Pattern:

Week 1- Wednesday and Friday, 2pm to 10pm and Saturday, 9am to 5pm

Week 2 -Tuesday and Friday 2pm to 10pm and Sunday, 9am to 5pm

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Ensuring that relevant support is provided for our customers to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Promote safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
  • Regularly assessing the needs of our customers, writing and updating support plans
  • Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer enquiries
  • Developing professional relationships with customers, using appropriate and clear communication to ensure that customers maintain personal choice, privacy and dignity

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in social care, or with adults with mental health needs
  • Experience of managing benefits claims would be advantageous
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills with an approachable attitude
  • Reacting effectively to highly pressured situations
  • Good skills in maintain accurate records and support plans
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards, is essential
