Project Worker

 

Brighton Road, Lancing

 

£12.09

 

30 hours per week (to include 1 sleep in shift every fortnight)

We’re seeking a friendly and reliable Project Worker to join our team at Brighton Road and make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Our supported living service provides support for young people aged 16 to 25, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and require support to increase their confidence and develop their skills.

 

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of customers by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training, and employment
  • Supporting customers in their day to day living i.e., with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers build their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the customers and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Completing health and safety checks within the service
  • Safeguarding customers and advising them how to keep themselves safe, and who to report to in times of concern

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Experience and knowledge with housing tenancy law, housing benefit reform and rents and/or income
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Good skills in maintaining accurate records and support plans
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
