Our client is seeking a professional and welcoming Receptionist to be the first point of contact for their visitors and to support the school community. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Working hours will be across Monday to Friday, 3 days of 7.30am – 12.30pm and 2 days of 1.00pm – 6.00pm
Duties will include:- Greet visitors warmly, both in person and on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
- Direct visitors and accompany them to waiting areas and meetings, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.
- Maintain security by following procedures, issuing visitor badges, and ensuring compliance with site safety regulations.
- Provide support to current families with general school inquiries.
- Work collaboratively with the office team to promote a professional and productive school office environment.
- Handle telephone inquiries, deal with queries, and provide general information about the school.
- Ensure all visitors sign in correctly and are provided with the necessary badges.
- Support pupils and staff with their inquiries at the School Office and follow up on any required actions.
- Contribute to a team culture within the School Office and the wider Administration Team.
- Manage the daily distribution of internal post.
- Participate in whole School meetings, Inset days, and Staff Development workshops as required.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Well-organised with experience in administration and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility and a collaborative approach to work within the administrative team.
- Essential experience includes customer service and effective communication skills.
- Desirable experience includes working in a school environment and familiarity with School Management Systems (e.g., ISAMS, SIMS).
