Part-Time Tax Manager

Part-time Tax Manager - Renewable Energy Company - Northamptonshire (with hybrid working) - Circa £60k-£75k plus 25% bonus and benefits package

Robert Walters are hiring for a Part-time Tax Manager for a leading renewable energy business based in Northamptonshire (with flexible working arrangements).

This is a permanent role available on a part-time basis either 3 or 4 days per week.

It comes with a salary of circa £60k-£75k pro-rata plus 25% bonus and a great benefits package.

Working closely with the Finance Director and Financial Controller, the Tax Manager will be responsible for all the tax affairs for the group, covering both direct and indirect taxes - The role has a mix of tax compliance, tax advisory, business partnering and tax project working, and will also get involved in some treasury work as well.

Responsibilities include:

Corporation Tax

* Preparation of year-end tax computations and filing of returns for all Group subsidiaries
* Corporation tax and deferred tax provisioning calculations
* Ownership of the tax notes for Group and individual statutory accounts.
* Provide recommendations on strategy and exposure and prepare papers on the Group's position.
* Highlight areas for discussion/ potential areas for consideration by the Board relating to tax.

VAT

* Quarterly preparation of the VAT returns for all of the VAT registrations
* Ad-hoc assistance with VAT queries (internal and external).

Employment Taxes

* Assist with the preparation of P11Ds, Class 1a and 1b returns
* Preparation and filing of the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement.

Other Tax Responsibilities
* Filing of the SDLT forms.
* Maintain Group Tax Strategy document
* Main point of contact for all tax related matters e.g. HMRC, shareholders and legal.

Treasury

* Daily management of entity bank balances
* Regular review of intercompany short term and long term borrowing position
* Preparation of Treasury Paper on intercompany balances and dividend distributions

The organisation are looking for a qualified tax professional (ACA / ACCA / CTA etc.) with experience in UK corporation tax.

Experience in indirect tax / employment tax is of benefit but not required. No treasury experience needed.
