Type: Fixed term initially, to March 2026.
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week). There may be potential flexibility to consider part-time or job share so we welcome applications on that basis
Salary: £28,282 with potential future progression to £31,364 (pay award pending)
Location: Hybrid working across Devon (with Exeter base)
We are seeking an exceptional, dynamic individual to be part of our local Engagement Teams, working in local communities to unlock the ability of movement to change lives.
About us…
Active Devon is a community focussed, not for profit organisation with a vision of everyone in Devon active for life. We know the benefits of being active are life-changing, helping to reduce inequalities and delivering huge value in our communities. We hope that you will want to join us in making movement a positive part of people’s lives, whatever their background.
What you’ll be doing…
Our Partnerships Officers work in and with local communities. The principal focus of their role is building and managing relationships in those communities. They also plan and develop various collaborative initiatives, aimed at enabling those people who would benefit most from being active. You’ll be part of one of our four place-based Engagement Teams, and will cover South Hams, West Devon, East Devon, Mid Devon, Teignbridge and Exeter.
What experience you’ll need…
This is a fantastic opportunity for people with excellent relationship building skills and a passion for helping people. We are especially interested in hearing from people who have lived experience of the challenges and barriers that can prevent people leading active lifestyles. Experience working in the Community, Health, Education or active lifestyles sectors would be advantageous; along with project planning and implementation skills.
The role would suit ambitious, values driven professionals looking to take their personal growth to the next level and join a highly regarded community focussed organisation which works at the leading edge of using physical activity as a tool for positive social and system change.
Successful candidates will possess a real passion for the agenda and a strong fit with Active Devon’s values. They will be able to demonstrate clearly transferable skills and experiences or draw upon experience in a community development, health or active lifestyles role (voluntary or professional).
What you’ll get in return…
As well as the opportunity to work as part of an energetic and vibrant team, the successful candidate will benefit from:
* Generous salary with defined benefits (career average) pension scheme
* Flexible working scheme
* entitlement (pro rata)
* Various active workplace initiatives
How to apply….
Applicants must submit a completed application by midnight on 22nd May 2024.
The online application process can be found by clicking Apply Now.
Selection interviews: We anticipate interviews taking place on 29th May 2024 TBC.
