Job Title: Pastoral Support Worker
Location: The Holden School, Leigh
Salary: £18,832.35 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Must be UK based.
Due to growth in serivce, we are recruiting for Pastoral Support Workers to be part of an excellent team in a friendly and expanding Specialist School.
About the Role
The post holder will manage and work as part of a team supporting the learning and behaviour of students. The post holder will provide practical support for individual students and work with the whole school to promote positive behaviour management.
Who we are looking for
Evidence of continuous professional development in behaviour managementExperience of working with families and young people who have challenging behaviours in a variety of settings including secondary educationAn awareness of the current issues affecting young peopleExperience of managing in a multi-disciplinary teamExperience of working with outside agenciesTrained in counselling/behaviour management and pupil protectionKnowledge of basic Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint – supported by achievement of ECDL or similarSkills, Abilities and Knowledge
Effective behaviour management skillsGood oral and written communication with students and adultsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to respond to challenging circumstances in a positive mannerGood interpersonal and organisational skillsAbility to prioritise own workload, meet deadlines and to work independentlyAble to work in a calm, efficient and safe mannerAbout Us
The Holden School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 16, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs in Lancashire, Manchester and surrounding areas. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. We are a Therapeutic Led Trauma Informed School providing individualised curriculums for our young people supported by our Class Teams, our Wellbeing Team and our own Therapists.
