Patch Worker
About the role
The Neighbourhood Services team are responsible for keeping Crawley’s residential and communal areas safe clean and well maintained. Our work involves:
- litter picking
- emptying bins
- weeding and pruning shrub beds
- hedge cutting
- removing fly-tips
- strimming
- grass cutting
You need to have a full UK driving licence, the ability to drive transit sized vehicles and the physical capability to undertake the work.

Permanent contract – Patch Worker – Manor Royal (NHS036)
Working within our Manor Royal team with a range of grounds maintenance tasks across the borough as listed above. Experience is an advantage but not essential. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm and Friday 7am to 2:30pm.
Temporary and casual staff – Up to £13.46ph
Occasionally there are short term opportunities that provide cover or additional resources to the teams. This work can cover a broad range of tasks. If you would like to be considered for any temporary or casual work please let us know what your availability is and any preferences you may have. With your permission, your application and contact details will be held on a register for present and future use.
Additional information
You may be required to work extra hours on weekends and bank holidays for which you will be paid a 14% enhancement.
You need to maintain a current full UK driving licence (category B) and wear a uniform.
