Payroll and Benefits Co-Ordinator

Location - Flexible. Sunderland, Peterborough, or Haywards Heath

FTC - 6 months

An exciting opportunity to join Markerstudy as a Payroll Benefits Specialist has arisen on a fixed term basis of 6 months. Working in the wider HR Operations team and reporting to the Reward Manager - Benefits and Wellbeing, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll benefits for over 5,000 employees across Markerstudy.

You will collaborate closely with the Reward Team, Payroll Team, Finance team, and external suppliers to ensure benefits are administered accurately for colleagues and their benefits. In addition, you will provide accurate Payroll and Benefits analysis, working across our multiple entities to ensure that an accurate and timely benefits scheme is delivered to all employees. You will act as a subject matter expert for Payroll and Benefits administration to support a fast-growing business. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing the payrolling of benefits and maintenance thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, audit, and report monthly payroll data, identifying changes in employee benefits, and analysing accordingly.
  • Provide guidance on Payroll and Benefits best practices identifying areas of improvement to enhance efficiency across all payroll processes.
  • Provide support to resolve payroll discrepancies and engage third-party providers as appropriate.
  • Implementing the payrolling of benefits.
  • Accurate administration of pensions processed through the payroll, ensuring that employees and relevant third parties are paid accurately.
  • Be a first point of contact for problem solving issues relating to pensions and Benefits and respond to employee queries within agreed timeframes.
  • Carry out system testing as and when required.
  • Updating of systems and databases as and when required.
  • Maintain up to date benefit and payroll knowledge, legislation, trends and best practice.

About you:

  • Experienced in the analysis or administration of Payroll functions.
  • Experienced in the implementation and day to day running of payrolling benefits.
  • Reliable and able to work with highly sensitive data.
  • Excellent time management and able to balance multiple priorities to achieve deadlines.
  • Resilient and adaptable to challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and able to collaborate internally, externally and across all levels of the company.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working in a high volume payroll department and a solid understanding of typical payroll benefits is desirable.
  • Knowledge of HMRC and pension regulation.
