We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Finance Team!
As a Payroll Assistant, you will assist the Payroll Specialist in the Finance department, supporting the payroll function and data entry for the organisation, as well as best practices within payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the payroll specialist in processing payroll, ensuring all payroll policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation
- Facilitate the onboarding and exit process for payroll to ensure administration is accurately completed and smooth transition
- Collaborate with the Payroll Specialist on benefits, deductions, one-off payments and tax implications where necessary, to ensure accuracy and smooth operation
- Prepare 3rd party payments with associated backup and support the wider finance team by posting payroll journals to the ledgers assisting in information recording on all payroll-related transactions to support with the assessment of financial impact
- Assist the payroll specialist in the creation of balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining full back-up schedules for key control accounts including net pay and associated standard deductions to provide key data and enable appropriate escalation to the for resolution as needed
Key Requirements
- GCSE Maths & English (A*-C/4-9) (or equivalent)
- CIPP Level 5 or equivalent or willingness to undertake and complete on appointment
- Demonstrable Experience of supporting Payroll in a complex organisation.
- Understanding of financial regulations and processes
- Demonstrable experience in relevant balance sheet reconciliations
