Form of workExperts in their field, this Cardiff based business is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their busy operation. This successful business is focussed on first class service provision across south Wales, and have gone from strength to strength, currently employing circa 1200 people.
This role will be working in a talented finance team and will report into an experienced Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will already have some payroll experience and will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and manage multiple deadlines.

The job
- Ensure all employees for region (500 employees) are paid monthly - on time and accurately
- Liaise with the human resource team regarding increases & annual increments and assist with the production of relevant reports
- Update Sage system with information from time and attendance system (eg overtime, sickness, etc)
- Liaise with the staff and operating units who raise pay queries.
- Maintain accurate records of employee information, including personal details, tax withholding, and benefits.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other relevant parties as needed.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits.
- Assist in the implementation of payroll-related policies, procedures, and systems
The person specification
- Experience of working in a payroll environment.
- Computer literate including knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Possess strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Enjoy working as part of a team to set monthly deadlines.
Salary & benefits
- c£26,000 per annum
- 37.5-hour week - Monday to Friday
- Pension
- Hybrid - 1 day per week (after initial training)
- 25 days + bank holidays
