Payroll Officer

Location: Newport, Isle of Wight

Hours: 39 hours per week ( 8.30am - 5pm)

Days: Monday - Friday

Duration: immediate start, 6 months initially ( may be temp to perm for the right candidate)

Duties:

Processing of high volume monthly payroll including:
collation of timesheets,
checking hours and rates of pay,
liaison with Human Resources,
setting up new starters and administering leavers,
processing holiday pay, sick pay, maternity/paternity pay etc.
Processing mileage claims and expenses,
pensions administration (2 schemes),
calculating and submitting HMRC returns,
producing reports,
liaison with staff members for any queries,
liaison with the finance team and assisting with any other duties, as required on a relief basis.

Experience:

Must have previous payroll processing experience, preferably in high volume and the ability to work to deadlines.
Must have a strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must have a good level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems.
Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.

Salary: £13.00 per hour worked
