Hays Accountancy and Finance have partnered up with a leading global group specialising in the engineering, manufacturing and insulation, as well as fire protection systems to deliver solutions for various sectors such as energy and chemical. We are now looking for a Payroll Officer to join our client's team and help them with the administration and processing of the current payroll function on a permanent and full-time basis.
This role will be 37.5 hours a week working 8am to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 12:30pm on Fridays, looking to pay between £27,000 and £30,000.
Your new role
As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinating with HR to ensure data accuracy
- To collate and process timesheets in accordance to the job costing module
- Process data into the payroll module
- Prepare payroll tax information
- Resolving any payroll-related queries or issues raised by employees or managers
- Monitoring and analysing payroll costs and preparing reports for management
- To carry out pension and auto enrolment administration
- You will also calculate the hours payable based on hours worked and contract entitlements.
What you'll need to succeed
- To be proficient in Excel, particularly using filters and v-look ups
- Be able to work well under pressure, whilst ensuring accuracy
- To have some experience or exposure to the duties of a Payroll Assistant or similar, but full training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills
- Have good time management skills in order to meet deadlines
