Payroll Officer

Are you ready to step into the heart of Whyteleafe, where excellence meets warmth in a family-run business who are a multidiscipline building services contractor, operating in London and the surrounding areas.

Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to support the Head of Accounts within their expanding Finance Team.

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday – Friday,9am – 5pm

What will your daily responsibilities include?

Responsible for fortnightly and monthly pay runs, across all companies including:

• Ensuring all timesheets are received and approved
• Collating expenses for payment
• Maintaining HR absence and annual leave records
• Processing starters and leavers
• Allocating timesheets to project costs
• On-boarding subcontractors
• Checking subcontractor invoices against timesheets
• Maintaining employment contracts
• Sending formal corresponding to staff regarding rates of pay, bonuses etc
• Liaising with third party HR consultants where necessary
• Submitting timesheets / instructions to agencies
• Reporting on PAYE liabilities due for payment
• Processing SSP, SMP etc
• Administering autoenrollment pension

Skills / experience required:

• Methodical, attention to detail
• Previous experience of processing payroll, preferably using Sage 50
• Experience of Eque2 software desirable but not essential
