The Payroll & Pension Service Manager works as a member of the senior leadership team in the Business Service Centre which is responsible for delivering a range of transactional shared services.

 

We are looking for a Payroll & Pensions service manager with a proven track record, with excellent management and leadership experience and who is competent at using ERP systems to deliver a payroll service (ideally SAP).  Some experience of working within a project team implementing a new payroll system would be extremely beneficial as the Council is in the process of moving their HR, Finance and procurement systems to the cloud and the Payroll & Pensions Service Manager will need to ensure that they work and communicate well with the payroll workstream lead on the programme to ensure a smooth business as usual transition.

 

The role is responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership for the payroll service to Gloucestershire County Council, a large number of schools and other public sector related customers in and around Gloucestershire.  The successful applicant will be responsible for line managing approx. 4 staff with indirect reports of over 30. The focus of the payroll service is on delivering a high quality and effective service that meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, with the customer always at the forefront and with an emphasis on continual improvement.

 

This opportunity offers a hybrid working model with a good mix of remote and home-based working.
