Day to Day of the Role
  • Manage end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for a varied client base, adhering to current legislation and internal policies.
  • Supervise and guide junior team members, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle payroll transactions, including terminations, statutory payments, and deductions, with attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Keep updated with payroll legislation and engage in payroll improvement projects.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries professionally and provide timely solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver outstanding service and support business expansion.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a payroll bureau or similar setting within an accountancy firm is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of UK manual tax and national insurance calculations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Customer-focused with the discretion to handle confidential matters.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
