We are looking for a permanent Gift Processing Coordinator and an interim Gift Processing Coordinator for a 12 month fixed term contract, to join the Finance team, focused on providing processing fundraising income at the Foundation, to support our three Charity brands - Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity. Our fundraising is currently embarking on a period of growth with a strategy of investment and increased activity in order to achieve a step change growth in donation income.

 

This role will be primarily responsible for processing of all philanthropic donations to the Foundation efficiently and effectively. You will ensure all gift processing is completed to a high standard, coupled with the successful monthly reconciliation between the fundraising database and the charity bank account. Additionally, you will offer support to the Finance team in their mission to process and report financial information of the utmost quality. The Finance team is engaging, collaborative and supportive, as well as highly motivated and passionate about their work

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Process donations onto the fundraising database meticulously, adhering to established guidance and procedures with exceptional accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring prompt and comprehensive responses to inquiries regarding gift processing, fostering constructive working relationships.
  • Conduct visits to external fundraising sites to collect donations, including cash, employing responsible and secure procedures aligned with best practices.
  • Import gifts and donor details from diverse fundraising platforms promptly, proactively identifying and rectifying any inaccuracies or errors.
  • Monitor weekly banking activities and conduct monthly cumulative reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with the Data and System Teams to develop and document gift processes, supporting any necessary system upgrades and refining processes as required.
  • Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders regarding gift processing inquiries, meeting response timeframes and resolving issues promptly.
  • Support internal and external audits related to gift processing, promptly and comprehensively providing the required supporting documents.
  • Provide assistance and perform other ad-hoc tasks as required within the Finance and Fundraising teams, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

 

Knowledge/ Qualifications

 

  • Sound arithmetical abilities (Essential).
  • Practical user experience with Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (Essential).
  • Previous use of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising system (Desirable).
  • CRM user (e.g. Salesforce) experience (Desirable).

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum of 1 year’s working experience in the charity sector, ideally in gift processing function (Desirable).
