What it's like to work here

We want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us. The North of England is truly rich in cultural heritage and spectacular scenery. The scale of the Trust’s work in this region is huge, and our teams cover all four corners, from Cheshire right up to the Scottish borders.

This role will be based from a regional office in either Manchester, Altrincham, York, Grasmere or Newcastle, however we are flexible about the balance of home working and property and office-based working. All team members are required to travel to attend regular client meetings and team meetings in the region and to national people meetings, usually at our head office in Swindon. We may consider applications from areas outside of the North region. Expenses to travel to the North would be at the individuals cost and all regional and national travel requirements would need to be met.

What you'll be doing

You’ll need to be an influential HR practitioner, able to operate at a strategic level and confident working in a complex, matrix-style environment. You’ll act as a credible coach to your clients, bringing expertise, perspective and pragmatism. You’ll bring your experience of managing change, maintaining high employee engagement, experience of organisational development to help our leaders to create a positive, inclusive culture.

You’ll be partnering some of the Trust’s Assistant Directors, and as a Business Partner, you’ll help them to think strategically about their teams and support the implementation of strategic programmes in the region. Building relationships is key.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues in the People Service Centre, subject experts and your regional colleagues to provide seamless solutions. You’ll use your experience of working in a large and complex organisation to ensure plans are sustainable and will ultimately deliver organisational benefits and results. Above all, we want you to play a part in developing a culture in which our leaders are empowered, with the confidence and skills they need to lead their people to create an inclusive and welcoming place for our staff, volunteers, supporters and communities.
