Job description

Description

Are you motivated by empowering people to do the best work of their careers? Do you have experience of turning a People strategy into long-term, positive impact in a scale-up environment? Are you a team player who can influence the most senior roles in an organisation, as well as individual contributors? Can you bring a combination of empathy and rigour to your work, and role model this in your day to day interactions with employees?

The impact you will have:
As People Director, you will lead our People team alongside our Chief People Officer to develop and implement our People Strategy through three pillars: hiring diverse Elliptites, developing capabilities & driving performance, and enabling an environment where every Elliptite can perform at their best.
You’ll be responsible for identifying the most important cross-functional people challenges to solve at Elliptic, and co-create and deliver the most effective solutions with the People team and your customers (our Elliptites!).
You’ll be responsible for partnering with our Managers to develop and lead the implementation of those solutions, and facilitate the achievement of company strategic objectives.
With your in-depth knowledge and understanding as a People Director, you will advise, coach and support managers with the management of informal and formal employee relations casework and change, by providing an efficient and effective, quality-driven customer-focused service, and ensuring compliance with best practice, internal policies and legislation.
As part of the Senior Leadership team, you’ll lead and enable cross-functional communication, and will influence and inspire others by your engagement, passion and exemplary expertise in all things People. By building strong internal working relationships in this group, you will enable the People team and our initiatives to gain momentum across Elliptic.
You will be accountable for the People team’s performance, coaching, managing and supporting the development of your direct reports of the People team across Partnering, Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development.

  • Lead the hiring process, including identifying recruitment needs, selecting bar-raiser candidates, making offers and onboarding;
  • Work with managers to identify development needs and to facilitate the implementation of a learning offering that enhances individual and business performance;
  • Support all employees, offering independent confidential advice with regards to employee relations issues;
  • Partner with managers on all development and performance processes, such as the Annual Performance Process, Development Conversations and Annual Comp Review, to support them and to ensure they are conducted efficiently, providing assistance on performance issues when necessary;
  • Understand all aspects of Elliptic’s compensation philosophy and act as a first point of contact for managers’ questions related to compensation and benefits;
  • Provide employee metrics to stakeholders, as required, and supporting decision making;
  • Embed and pro-actively live and promote our values and behaviours across our global teams;
  • Role model giving and receiving feedback in a direct and empathetic way;
  • Mentor other People Partners in the team to support their partnering skills and development.
You will be a great fit here if you:
  • Are passionate by making the workplace an amazing field for growth and development and enjoy working in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
