Performance Analyst
Birmingham, West Midlands (with hybrid working)
We are currently looking to recruit a Performance Analyst to join our team in Birmingham. The Performance Analyst is integral to the regulation of the National Lottery. You will be part of the team responsible for monitoring and managing the performance of the National Lottery operator, which will involve analysing, assessing, and communicating data and insights from a range of different sources in order to inform a comprehensive assessment of the operator’s performance.

Your Role:
Within this role, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and supporting the management of the performance of the National Lottery operator, in line with an outcomes-focused approach to regulation.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations of regular proposals and reports, as provided or made available by the operator, and requesting further data or information as necessary to assess operator performance and whether the required outcomes are being achieved.
- Undertaking horizon scanning work to monitor trends, themes and policy developments and identify areas of best practice, to inform an assessment of operator performance.
- Presenting insights and providing steer to relevant stakeholders (internal and external), as required.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders (including the teams within the Gambling Commission which support the regulation of the National Lottery) and external stakeholders (including the National Lottery operator and other key external contacts).

About you:
Essential:
- Experience of undertaking and communicating analysis, interpreting a wide range of data (including raw data, reports and market insight), and providing valuable insights that inform risk-based decisions and challenge assumptions.
- Experience in verifying and validating data analysis, using quality assurance techniques to identify the right data sources and then validating and understanding how to interpret the results.
- Experience in performance measurement, supporting the development of a performance framework and providing the intelligence to support the formulation of both short-term and long-term strategic plans.
- Experience of developing and optimising effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Desirable:
- Experience in a regulated sector, working with a regulator or regulated company, and of regulatory best practice.
- Experience in the public sector or of working with central government.
