ROLE SUMMARY: The role of the Performance Analyst As a Performance Analyst at Navigo, you will support on all matters relating to Information Analysis to inform service development and facilitate Navigo meeting its strategic and work plan objectives. The role is exciting and varied on a regular basis. One week, you may be looking at processes to improve our dementia pathway, while another week, you may be concentrating on the non-attendance rate of one of our services to assess what works well and what doesn't. Where quality improvement plans are in place, you will provide updated reports on the monitored outcome measures and collaborate with the quality team and service lead to evaluate whether the improvement plan has worked.
You will be heavily involved in analysing the data within our Integrated Performance Report, ensuring the report reflects practice accurately and identifying areas where data raises concerns to be shared with clinical staff through our Quality and Learning Network meetings. As part of the job role, you will complete a Level 6 Data Science Apprenticeship. A Data Scientist Apprenticeship will develop the combination of skills and knowledge required to recognise different types of data and design, to implement and optimise appropriate methods of analysis. MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Core Functions Analytical Create and run reports in Microsoft SQL server.
Deliver consistently high standards in data reliability and information analysis. Provide in-depth analysis to build intelligence for quality improvement plans and workplan projects. Investigates variances in performance within the Navigo Integrated Performance Report, highlighting these to the Senior Performance Analyst. Triangulate analysis across a range of reports and datasets.
Manipulation large datasets and creating complex spread sheets and relational databases as well as analysing and resolving complex queries and discrepancies. Analyses situations to identify and resolve problems relating to the Mental Health clinical system and the Incident and Accident Reporting System Provides analytical support to Navigo by developing and delivering customised ad-hoc management reports/information packs encompassing data from the Mental Health service. This will include regular reporting to the various Navigo committees and other relevant groups, for example the Quality and Learning Networks Interprets, presents and benchmarks national and local data for clinical leads to support the strategic function. Works with the Senior Performance Analyst to develop and maintain effective information systems that meet the current and changing requirements of Navigo enabling robust monitoring of existing services and new initiatives to be carried out.
Provides complex and potentially sensitive ad-hoc information analysis to the Navigo Central Management Team and Mental Health Managers. Ensures that all relevant data is received and input onto the information systems to enable Navigo reporting timetables to be met. This would involve manipulating large datasets and creating complex spread sheets and relational databases as well as analysing and resolving complex queries and discrepancies. Maintains a detailed knowledge of NHS data definitions, standards and guidance on healthcare information to ensure that systems are implemented and maintained.
Supports with the preparation and quality assurance of routine internal and external information returns relevant to the postholders area of responsibility. Communication The post holder will form and maintain effective working relationships with: Internal Assistant Director of Performance and Assurance Head of Performance and Information Performance and Assurance Team Senior Management Team Consultants and Junior Doctors Other Mental Health Service Staff (Clinical and Non-Clinical) External TPP SystmOne Other clinical system suppliers Systems Development Manager for the ICB North East Lincolnshire Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) Humber Coast and Vale Integrated Care System (ICS) GP Practices Information Teams across the Region NHS Digital System Support/Information functions in other trusts The postholder will: - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, clinical and non-clinical staff, and external partners such as clinical system suppliers and Information Teams across the Region. Communicates analytical/statistical matters to non-analytical/statistical professionals, advises, persuades on statistical techniques to be used. Able to explain complex and technical information governance issues to non-information staff.
Attends a Quality and Learning network meeting with a clinical service each month and provides feedback on performance. Provide analytical support to Navigo working groups. Deputises at meetings for Senior Performance Analyst and the wider analyst sub team. Planning Adhere to relevant legislation and standards to safeguard information confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Manage tasks with competing priorities and prioritise workload to meet project timelines. Aid in producing data for projects, business cases and quality improvement plans. To regularly report on progress, monitoring progress against plan, delivery of the project purpose, and post project review to the appropriate forum (project or quality improvement plan lead) Establishes, develops and maintains information systems to record information for New Initiatives and Diversionary Schemes. Policy Operate within organisational and professional policies and procedures, exercising initiative while seeking guidance from managers when necessary.
HR and Training Provide support and training to other members of the Performance team as required, around own areas of work. Provides basic guidance on the mental health clinical system and incident and Accident Reporting System. Identifies any training needs around the Mental Health Clinical System and the Incident and Accident Reporting System and works with the System Trainer to resolve them. Continues professional development to ensure they are kept up to date with new ways of working within their expertise (including level 6 data science apprenticeship).
Utilises online community groups relevant to profession (i.e., NHS Future Collaborations) for support and new developments. Undertake surveys and audits as necessary to own work. To provide cross-cover, ensuring continuity of service during periods of annual leave/sickness. To work with other directorates within Navigo to develop databases for use by non-information staff to record activity.
Able to prioritise own workload and that of direct report to ensure adherence to timetables. Provide cross cover support within the analyst sub team. Information Provides and receives information on the mental health clinical system. Maintains and develops in depth of knowledge of the Mental Health clinical system and the Incident and Accident Reporting System setup.
