Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Let us introduce you to Sam, Oscar and Matthew:
Sam loves being outdoors, and getting into nature in all weather. A typical day with Sam could be going to his local outdoor day service and supporting him with all sorts of activities such as gardening and feeding birds. Sam also enjoys an occasional walk around the shops or chopping firewood for his home. Sam receives support Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 08:00 - 17:00.
Oscar loves working with animals and getting outdoors. Oscar has an adventurous streak and can often be found rock climbing and kayaking too! A typical day could be going horse riding then swimming with Oscar, he is always on the move. In his downtime, Oscar loves video games as well, so there is always something actin packed to do. Oscar receives support Mondays through Fridays, 09:00 - 17:00 with some weekends.
Matthew loves movies, card games like pokemon and having a good rummage for rare DVDs in the local charity shops. A typical day could be going bowling, then shopping round the charity shops and game shops for collectibles. In his downtime, Matthew loves to watch movies and spend time with his family. Matthew receives support on Wednesday and Saturdays, but he would like to try going out some evenings in the future with the right member of staff.
