Job description

Across the UK, PDSA's 48 Pet Hospitals protect the special bond between owners and their pets by providing emergency veterinary care when their owners are unable to pay the full cost of treatment. Through our work, PDSA is creating a fairer society, where social inequality is not a barrier to the love and companionship of owning a pet.
About the Role:
We have a unique opportunity for a highly organised and efficient PA to join our team on a short-term basis with specific responsibility for two of our directors, including the Director General.
You will be the first point of contact for your directors and will deal with a wide range of communications assessing urgency and relevance. Diary management is key as is the co-ordination and management of regular meetings including the ability to take minutes, provide agendas and monitor papers.
Communicating with our Trustees and a range of internal and external stakeholders is critical in this role so you will need to be a great people person, motivated and an effective multi-tasker, with an excellent eye for detail.
The role also provides secretarial support to the wider leadership team as part of a small team of PA's.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is an exceptional administrator, ready to contribute to the smooth running of the PDSA leadership team and governance operations. You will be proactive in your approach to work, an enthusiastic team player with the ability to prioritise different and often competing demands.
To be successful in the role, you will need solid IT skills along with strong verbal, written and numeracy skills. Excellent planning and delivery skills are critical as is the ability to make effective decisions with an eye for detail.
How to Apply:
If you would like to find out more, email Vannessa in our Talent Team at
If you would like to make a formal application, click on the button at the top of the page, create a candidate account and complete our simple application form with your CV.
About the benefits:
We are passionate about being a great place to work, where people feel connected with what we do and where they feel they can make a genuine difference. We offer a wide range of benefits, including:
Remote and flexible working options
25 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays) with the option to buy and sell up to 5 days per year
An additional Wellbeing Day to take whenever you like to help recharge your batteries
Generous Auto-Enrolment pension and/or Contributory pension schemes available starting at an enhanced rate of 5% contributions up to 10%
Life Assurance policy (4 x Annual Salary)
Employee Assistance Program and Online Wellbeing Centre available 24/7 giving you the ability to speak with a professional in confidence about a range of issues
Wide range of discounts for Retail, Holiday and similar organisations on our fetch platform
PDSA is committed to embedding a culture of diversity and inclusion within our teams that reflect the communities we serve. We aim to create a working environment in which all individuals can make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies and opportunities for flexible working arrangements to support team members from different backgrounds.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss via email or telephone reasonable adjustments that you may require throughout the recruitment process.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, adults at risk and all our colleagues and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
To support this commitment, our recruitment & selection processes are robust and rigorous. All appointments will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate background checks.
