To assist with a variety of tasks and provide support to a young lady who is generally very happy and loves music. She is 17 years old and lives at home with her Mum, Dad and two younger sisters. The family would like someone to support her independence, help with Personal Care and provide social support and companionship.

Nature of the job role:
To assist with a variety of tasks and provide support to a young lady who is generally very happy and loves music. She is 17 years old and lives at home with her Mum, Dad and two younger sisters. The family would like someone to support her independence, help with Personal Care and provide social support and companionship.
Main duties:
To support M in her own home and to take M out into the community. To help her access leisure activities such as swimming and horse riding. Mother will come along also to begin with until a good relationship has been built up. Then you will be doing these tasks alone.
Personal duties:
- Promote independence with tasks and Personal Care, support is needed in all areas as M is fully incontinent, and encouragement is needed to toilet train.
Social duties:
- Provide social support and assistance to access local community.
These duties may vary from day to day.
Hours of work:
Eight hours per week. Flexible but may include some weekends. Temporary contract 12-week contract to be reviewed.
Rate of pay:
£10.50 per hour.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
- Fun and outgoing, not afraid of dancing etc and following child lead.
- Car owner with full driving licence
- Experience in health and social care, particularly with children who have special needs.
- A clear DBS check on the update service OR willing to have a check carried out
- Understanding and willing to help
- Reliable and adaptable
Preferred:
- Health and Social care related qualification such as: NVQ level 2 or 3
- Friendly and fun
- Approachable
- Patient
- Kind caring nature
Summary Terms and Conditions
. The rate if pay for this position is £10.50 for employed.
. You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role as you will be expected to use your own car
. Free care skill training provided to employees.
. Hours and times of work: Flexible, to be agreed and be discussed at interview.
The post is subject to the following:
. A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months if made permanent.
