Start date: July 2024 (This role will initially be on a casual hours contract during July and August, transitioning to permanent status from September)
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with Personal Care to join our committed and hardworking team at Hethersett Academy. The main responsibility of this role will be:
Working under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff, to undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or EAL (English as an Additional Language)
To enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom
To provide Personal Care where required which may involve assistance with; Continence requirements; Health and Medication requirements; Manual Handling; Handling personal possessions
Maintain regular communication with parents and carers.
The ideal candidate will have:
Good numeracy/literacy skills
Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
Ability to evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
Ability to relate well to children and adults
