Who we need We have an exciting opportunity for you to become part of our Personal Development/ Pastoral team at Nottingham College, supporting our learners to become ‘Future Ready’. We are looking for a committed and proactive Personal Development Tutorial Lead who will make a real difference in our aspirational and ambitious college and improve the quality of the student experience. You will be responsible for developing tutorial curriculum for a specific College Centre in conjunction with the Head of Study Programmes and the Assistant Principal where you will lead and develop the work of a team of our Personal Development tutors. We are looking for someone who can further progress our work in areas covering all aspects of student pastoral support and safeguarding as well as drive up attendance and ensure consistency in our tutorial delivery. What you’ll bring You will work closely with Course tutors to ensure high levels of student attendance in support of achieving outstanding student success and have an outstanding record of practice as a tutor together with successful experience of managing a team or function and developing high quality tutorial materials. You will have previous teaching experience, and hold or be prepared to work towards a recognised teaching qualification. Successful experience of the UCAS application process is essential as is knowledge of progression options including apprenticeships. You will have strong communication skills including excellent written English. Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure are also key. We are looking for a person who has an intelligent understanding of current developments affecting the post-16 curriculum with particular reference to safeguarding, Prevent and British values, and employability.
