The role
As a Pipe Fitter you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. manufacturing, repairing and replacing pipe work using a variety of industry standard materials. Day to day, you'll be responsible for:
- Documenting and reporting Dimension Control, Traceability and Quality standards.
- Determining job requirements and planning/configuring equipment materials
- Installations, inspections, diagnosing problems/faults/leeks, testing, repair and maintenance of various pipe systems.
- Fabrication, Pipe bending, Welding, pipe fitting on sight (on board ship) Manual Handling, Housekeeping
- Identify hazards, problems, defects and the need for replacement, adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
- Collaborative team working to ensure targets are met; contribute to those of the team as a whole
This role is full time, 36 hours per week, and based onsite at Rosyth
Essential experience of the Pipe Fitter:
- Significant experience in a similar role
- Good working knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
- Demonstrable knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Team player; friendly and approachable
- Must be in, and have the ability to maintain, good physical capability to handle the logistics of pipe fabrication and installation activities.
The successful candidate must be wiling to maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform the role, in order to comply with staturory and organisational requirements.
Qualifications for the Pipe Fitter:
- Qualifications and/or scompletion of an appropriate apprenticeship for Coppersmith, Pipe Fabrication
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
