Principal Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the technical charge in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems division. You'll be at the forefront, ensuring Mission Systems deliver exceptional capabilities to customers.
Key Responsibilities for the Principal Systems Engineer: 

• Spearhead all technical activities within the ISR domain, providing strategic direction and technical expertise.
• Lead the engineering process from concept to delivery, ensuring excellence through a rigorous Systems Engineering approach.
• Take the lead architect role for projects, managing new requirements, and designing and implementing effective solutions. Ensure these solutions undergo rigorous testing and validation to meet clients' needs.
• Work hand-in-hand with the Systems Engineering team and other disciplines to guarantee ongoing capability for in-service support. This includes providing technical solutions for emerging issues, especially when design changes are required.
• Act as a key liaison between extensive stakeholder network, ensuring a smooth implementation of any mid-lifecycle design modifications.

Key Skills and Experience for the Principal Systems Engineer: 

• You will have the ability to confidently take a leading role in a technical team that often can span multiple disciplines, organisations, agencies and customers.
• You will be innovative, bringing big ideas and solving complex problems with simple and elegant solutions.
• You will have demonstrable experience in leading and managing Systems Engineering following ISO15288. 
• Ideally you will have experience working within defence and supported C4ISR systems. 
• Knowledge of the MoD procurement process, including the CADMID lifecycle is highly desirable. 
• Experience within one of the following areas would be highly desirable Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR), SIGINT, GEOINT, IMINT, Military communications and networks, Electronic Warfare systems or Command and Control systems. 
• Degree level qualified within an Engineering Discipline 
• Systems Engineering certifications or qualifications.
• Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body or have a demonstrable plan to achieve within a defined timescale.
