Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a large UK defence client to recruit an experienced Principal Systems Engineer on a 52-week contract for its Bristol site.
The Principal Systems Engineer role comes with a day rate of up to �75p/h. (DOE)
Key skills
* Support with engineering delivery of the Maritime Electronic Warfare System Integration Capability (MEWSIC) programme.
* Engineering/technical management, preferably in a position responsible for the delivery of equipment/system programmes for a MoD customer.
* Working knowledge of MoD procurement processes, project delivery practices and technical standards compliance.
* Delivery of C5ISR systems across the SE life cycle, including an understanding of the CADMID life cycle and its alignment with systems/product life cycles.
* Domain expertise in one of the following: Electronic Warfare systems:
Combat Management Systems/Shared Infrastructure; Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Military RADAR systems; Military communications networks (WAN and LAN); SOSA.
* Conversant with the MoD Knowledge in Defence (KiD) framework and associated design, build, test and acceptance processes.
* Demonstrate a drive to deliver results on time, meeting cost and quality targets, taking ownership of problems / issues whilst working diligently towards a resolution.
* Be proactive and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
* Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers/stakeholders.
* Computer literate with MS Office skills.
* The use of commercial SE and modelling tools is desirable, e.g. Rhapsody, DOORS, UML.

* Position is Inside IR35 and offers a rate of up to �75p/h (DOE)
* 52-week contract
