Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide first level technical support to employees for company hardware, software and services. This includes help tickets, software setup, imaging, and deployment of new laptops and desktops.
Time not spent handling support tickets will be spent implementing small and medium sized IT projects to improve our company infrastructure and add new services. This position will work in collaboration with the IT Manager to keep our company’s infrastructure modern and improve existing workflows, monitoring and IT policies.
Ideal candidates will be eager to learn and expand their skill set. We have a wide set of technologies and areas to work and build skills.
- Provide first-level technical support for all IT-related issues for both local and remote employees. Including:
- General Desktop support, employees in Belfast as well as Remote employees for software, hardware, and core company services.
- Setup new workstations for employees (imaging, deploying software…)
- Complete IT projects as needed
- Candidates need to have the right to work in the UK and currently be registered in a full-time study programme in the UK, in Computer Science, Computing and Information Technology, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Basic understanding of computer networking
- Good understanding of Microsoft client and server operating systems, including but not limited to: Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and newer, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with virtualization (specifically Microsoft’s Hyper-V)
- PowerShell experience or other scripting/automation experience is a big plus
- Linux experience is a plus
- Microsoft Exchange or Office 365 experience
